Patmos Private Shore Excursion

Your tour will start from Scala port, where you will be met by your tour guide. You will be transported to the Cave of the Apocalipsis, where St. John the Theologian wrote the Revelation, the last book of the New Testament. There you will have a 40 min. guided tour.

After a 10 min. drive, you will arrive in Chora, the island's main village. There you will visit the monastery of St. John and the museum. The Monastery's museum houses a magnificent collection of jeweled chalices, crowns and crosses. Amongst the many icons and religious paintings there is an original El Greco painting which is one of his first. The guided tour of the monastery lasts aprox. 70 min.

After a short walk through the narrow streets of Chora, you will visit the Simandiris house. It is a 300 year old house preserved exactly as it was when it was built. Most of the times visitors get to meet the eighty year old lady that owns it. A few minutes’  walk from there lays the monastery of "Zoodochos pigy" (Spring of life monastery). Your tour guide will be with you at all times to explain the places that you visit.

When you finish your walking tour in Chora, you can stop at any of the traditional coffee shops, relax and admire the magnificent view from Choras English balcony, as the locals call it.

Driving to the North and for the rest of your tour, you will have an English speaking local tour escort.

Visit the traditional fishing village of Grikas. It presents a unique landscape.

Swim in Cambos beach at the north side of the village.

Enjoy lunch and fresh sea food at a traditional Patmos fish Taverna in Lamby.

In Lambys bay you can discover colorful stones on the beach and you can take them as a small souvenir from Patmos Island.

Finally, you will be returned to Scala.
